LAND WON'T PASS COUNTY "PERK" TEST

Purchased 4 acres of land in developed residential subdivision in NC. Years later decided to relocate, had land sold pending "perk test". Property faied test performed by County Health Department and were unable to sell. Homes were built on every other lot in immediate area.There are homes on both sides of my lot.Pay taxes for full value of land (30,000.00)County employee stated laws had changed since we purchased land. PLEASE HELP!

I'm not familiar with NC law or "perk test" but it sounds like there's an environmental hazard with your parcel. If it really is valueless because of the test results you could ask the local assessor to reassess your parcel so you won't be paying so much tax. You might consider hiring a real estate lawyer in NC. Why not check out the attorney listings on this website for some names.
