What is the name of your state?NY

I was pulled over today and at the same time another car pulled over in front of me.
The officer said he got me on radar going 85 (I wasn't going 85, my car is not able to go that fast due to issues). He then asked me why the car in front of me pulled over, since I had no idea who they were or why, I just told him I did not know who they were. He then said well, I will give them a ticket too because they were also going 85 and laughed.
Can he see both of our speeds on his radar at once?
I know I was not going 85 and I think I need to hire an attorney
as well, though I am not sure. I was on the thruway, 4 hours away from
my home and do not want to have to drive back there if an attorney
can handle it for me.
I was also wondering if they hold previous tickets against me?
I got 3 tickets when I was 17, but that was 12 years ago, I
know they are off my driving record, but will the Judge see
them and use them against me?
Thanks

Radar gets one car at a time. That is what is sounds like to me what happened.

Anyway, it is up to you if you want to pay this or fight it. That is a question you have to decide for yourself: Is it worth my time and money to fight this ticket or not?

The judge may indeed have your prior record.
