I live in NC in a declared federal disaster county. We had a couple of days that our septic was underwater due to hurricane Floyd, and now it seems that the leach field well, ISN'T. FEMA came out and said that if the ends of the lines had been exposed, then they would replace the entire system, but since they weren't, too bad, sucks to be you. We were supposed to move this month, but the health depaerment says not until it is fixed, and public works wants me to hook up to city sewer. Can I sell it as is? What are my options to get rid of this house without going into debt on it?
