First, thanks in advance for answering questions.

I live in California, L.A. County, and am moving to Colorado for a job transfer. My one year lease does not expire until April of 2000. I have been a tenant for three years at this building. (Renewed lease because I switched apartments).

The lease has a $900 break lease fee, which I did sign. I have heard that in some states that if you move away a certain distance, or for employment opportunities that this may be waived.

Is this true? Or any advice on where to research? My company will not cover this, and I have offered a smaller amount which they have refused.

Again, thanks in advance.
