What is the name of your state? NJ

My exhusband committed suicide June 2002 - I called the Social Security Administration about benefits for our daughter (9 yrs old at the time). While on the phone, the representative said that my former husband did not have enough 'credits' (or some word to that effect) to have earned social security benefits.

Recently, a coworker said that since I didn't receive anything in writing, I should attempt again. Help!

I'm sure if they looked it up , he didn't have enough credits .

I'm not sure if there is an Official application form you could file . Call and ask them . If the application was on an Official form , then you should receive an official letter .
