I purchased Disney's The Little Mermaid via Amazon.com's Marketplace recently. The Marketplace is where users like you and me can sell New and Used goods via Amazon.com. The DVD I bought was described as a used Region1 US/Canada import. It turned out to be a pirated copy of the DVD. The disc itself is a burned DVD, the packaging looks like it was printed on a home inkjet printer. The image on the disc itself was scaled wrong and is cropped out in places and does not match the real DVD's packaging. Also, it does not play in some DVD players because the disc is not a manufactered one but a burned copy. But the real kicker is that it has risidual pornographic material on its main menu and disc drive name when viewed on a computer. Great for children!

I reported it to Amazon and they said I have to first resolvee it with the seller. I contacted the seller but have since gotten no response (5 days).

Isn't Amazon.com responsible in part for goods sold over their system? Why would Amazon.com disregard the illegal nature of the product sold and take no action? Certainly if I was made aware of illegal goods being sold over my website I would want it stopped before I got in trouble with the law.

What shoudl I do?
