My mom recently applied for a position at a government contracted facility.

She was denied her clearence. She thinks it is because my brother has been arrested twice this year. Could this be possible?

He was arrested for DUI and Burglary on two seperate occasions.

Would the actions and character of relatives affect her chances?

Thanks.

It all depends...

What type of Security Clearance was she applying for? Secret? Top secret?

Need more information. If it was a secret that she was going for, it is doubtful that her son's actions had any affect. However, if she was going for a top secret clearance then family issues may have played a role. Hope this helped. Wish your mother the best for me.
