What is the name of your state?TX
What to do after you got married?
Can some one tell me what I need to do after I got married to a green card holder - I have a F1 visa.
Do I need to report a change of status to the INS?
Do I need to inform the international students office?

Please I need some help - my new husband will try to get citizenship in 07 - it sounds so uncertain.

Anything helps :(

I am NOT an attorney.

You have a few options and a lot to do.

If your F1 is valid and you are still studying it might be better to wait until your husband gets his US Citizenship.

Although you are married, you cannot be out of status, so you must keep your F1 in good status until you are able to file your petition, now or later on.

It will take a while to get a visa if he is only a permanent resident.

best of luck
