I lost my eyesight in 1987 at age 26 and collected Social Security benefits until I completed vocational rehabilitation and got a new job. When my income increased beyond a certain monthly level, I was no longer eligable for benefits. Recently, someone told me that this income restriction may have been removed, and that I may be eligable to start receiving benefits again despite my current employment status and/or income level. Have there been changes to the law that would allow me to receive benefits again?

Blind work exclusions are greater than the nonblind "substantial gainful employment" restrictions. Call your local office for specific work incentive guidelines.
