I am in CA.

Recently, I put my 9 dogs on my 32 acre property. I raise them for show. A few days ago, the Animal Control came to the house and left a ticket/complaint about my dogs not being licensed. They talked to a worker that was there asking if he was the owner. He told them he was not, and they asked him if he knew one dog was injured. The dog had a hotspot which I was watching. A hotspot is a raw spot on the skin that long haired dogs can get, and it can get huge in 24 hours, and then it tends to go away. Sometimes they require antibiotics to go away. I had been watching it. I have 24 hours of biology and animal husbandry, 30 years of experience with raising animals, and I do a lot of my treatments myself.

I cannot imagine who might have complained. (I thought they actually had to have a person complain. I had contacted all my neighbors but one before we purchased the property, and they all said the dogs wouldn't bother them.) I can only assume the idiots behind me that were fighting chickens and leaving them in the ditch were to blame for this coming up now as an issue.

I went down to the A/C to get some licenses. I had 30 days to do so. First, I was asked if I had a kennel license. I told them I had not but was working on it. The woman went to the phone (while I was filling out papers) and called the planning division. She came back and said "They don't have any record on you. They don't know you." I pulled out the card from the man at the planning division that I had spoken to several times, and I showed it to her and I said "Well, here's his card! I think this shows that I have been talking to him."

Then the A/C officer that came to my house walked up to me with a picture. He asked if I knew about the injry and who my vet was. I showed him the paperwork from the vet treating the hotspot. He wrote down the vet's phone number and immediately called "to see if it was a hot spot." The vet's receptionist told me later that day that he had called a few hours ago. He had another picture of what I don't know.

I feel very invaded. I am not happy. Several questions come up.

1. Can they come on my property uninvited?
2. If I get a kennel license, can they come on at will?
3. Can I give them notice to not enter my property without me being present?
4. Can I find out what is in "my file" at A/C without a subpoena?
5. Will a "No Trespassing" sign keep them off without a warrant?
6. Do I have to put up with this invasive type of action whenever they feel like coming on my property? What can I do to slow their invasion down?

A woman down the road was also given notice to get a kennel license. She said the A/C woman that she talked to said "I can be your best friend or your worst enemy." I have to say, I find this type of overreaching attitude very reprehensible.

Thanks for any ideas. I would like them not to come on without giving me notice. I just don't want anyone on my property, and what if one of my dogs is lose and bites them when they are invading my property? I think the dog would be in the right, and they should not come on without permission. But...

Governments have gotten out of hand

If you want to do what you NEED to do according to the Constitution of your state and for the United States of America, go to Law Notes -- Home Page and learn what the man teaches. Also, go to this link, called Jurisdictionary, at Lawsuit Self-Help for Pro Se Litigants for more information on how to know the rights of "we the people" and fight for them. The problem with over-reaching government is due to the lack of "we the people" doing our responsibilities to know the law and to know what the constitution says.

We are going through a similar situation with the county. The fact is, they cannot show us a law where on our own private property, that they have any jurisdiction to impose their regulations and laws. Fact is, those laws are meant for subdivisions, flood prone areas, state or county buildings (i.e. library, school yards, parks, etc.) and NOT anything to do with private property. Most people don't know that and so they go get a permit or license and hand them money when they are not required to.

I challenge you to dig in the law and find out if your own private property falls under their jurisdiction. If you go to that 1215 website (above) you can email them and he will respond. He is based in California and he fights using the Courts of Record in the state of California. The people have to do something if they don't want to live in a socialistic, communistic society that we are becoming. Let me know how it goes. Sojourners

Uh, why should I trust the validity of your anti-government rant when you don't have the reading comprehension to understand that this thread is 5 years old and the poster is long gone.
