I just became engaged. My fiancee has a 23 month old daughter that I would also like to adopt once the marriage takes place. She (my fiancee) and I are wondering how easy or difficult it will be for this process of adoption.
The biological father does not know of her existance, as their relationship went sour at the same time as conception. He is not on the birth certificate and my fiancee receives NO child support from him.
Will the adoption be as simple as me just adopting her, or will the biological father have to be contacted for consent?
