I'm considering writing a letter to my granddaughter at her school. I am wondering if I can do that. I don't want to do anything illegal. So I thought that if I spoke to her school principle, he/she may allow that to happen. I don't want problems. I just need to let my granddaughter know that I am still here and love her. I don't care if they even screen my letter. Please, I need feedback. Thanks. She lives in CA

The principal could not allow that without the parent's permission. I really don't feel that is a realistic solution to your problem. Plus it really could cause you some grief.
