What is the name of your state? Happend in Missouri, but I currently live in Arkansas.
I have 2 sons ages 6 and 8, they were taken from me by the social services in jasper county in the state of Missouri. They said that I failed to protect my children. Here is the story....I had suspicions that my mother was downloading child porn onto the computer,I called the cops and they told me that I needed proof, so I looked through the computer and there was indeed child porn. I then called the cops back and they took my mother out of my house, she was living with me at the time. Since the day the cops took my mother out of my house she has not been back and I have no contact with her. About a week AFTER my mother was taken out of my house, my oldest son and my oldest niece told me that "grandma was taking pics and touching them" They told me this around 8 pm when they were getting ready for bed and since my mother had already been taken out of my house, I didn't think they were in any danger. My oldest niece had a therapist appointment the next morning and I told the therapist what they had told me. The therapist wanted to talk to the kids alone, I had no problem with that because I hadn't done anything wrong. When they were done talking to the kids I was told that they would talk to me in a few minutes, I said ok and was playing the the kids. The workers came in and told me to come to the other room so that we could talk, thats when they told me that they were taking my kids from me because I failed to protect them. They wouldn't even let me tell my kids that I love them. There is more to this, but i'm trying not to make it too long, if you need to know more please ask. What I need to know is did they have the right to take my children in the first place since I am the one who turned my mother in for the child porn and had her taken out of my house??

Very likely they had every right to do that. There needs to be an investigation of what was going on and for how long. And you turned her in for one thing, but never reported the other (which, IMO is a much more serious event). I would strongly suggest you get yourself an attorney. ASAP
