I work in Florida and wanted to know if the employment contract I signed that states in the last line that its based on laws in the state of New York will that hold water in Florida, mainly regarding the non-compete portion of the contract. :confused:

There's no legal reason why it shouldn't.

But since the exact wording and the context counts, there is no way for us to comment on an agreement we have not read. You will need to show it to a local attorney.
