handbook contains non-compete section stating that I cannot be agent, owner or otherwise for competing business. If I sign that I have received a copy of employee handbook, does this mean that I have signed a non-compete agreement? or does this mean that I have received a copy of the handbook?

sorry, new at this but I rec'd no reply to the question about signing the handbook...can you help?

If you would go back and read my INITIAL reply to you then you'd have your answer.

For the record and for future reference, this is a volunteer board and the responders, who are not getting paid for this, do it on their own time. It sometimes takes a few hours, particularly if you post on weekends or after business hours, to get a response.
