A friend of mine recently made harassing phone calls from an unlisted cell phone to an ex-boyfriend in New York for various reasons.
They were not meant to be life threatening, but apparently the phone messages that were left came across that way because now the police, a private investigator, and the district attorney are involved.
He does not have any idea who made the calls as they were anonymous.
A phone records subpoena was just granted on his work phone where the messages were left. And they are now tapping his phone.

Question:
If absolutely no more phone calls are made (so the phone tap will not work), what are the chances that the work phone subpoena will show the number of the anonymous INCOMING (long distance) phone calls that were previously made??

cell phone

Would it make a difference in finding out phone records if the calls (time and date are known because of message left) had been made long distance with a CELL phone??
Why 50-50, what are the factors involved?

A: I don't know of any electronic device that enables you to tell if an incoming call is from a cellphone.

A: The factors are if anyone wants to pursue it or not.
