What is the name of your state?tx
My boyfriend recently got a letter that he owed over $40, 000 in back child support. His ex had claimed that they had been apart for more years than they actually had and was recieving state assistance for the kids while he was living with them. (She lied to the state.) So now they are taking $700 a month from his pay.
Now she wants him to give up his parental rights, which we are considering because she lives 1,000 miles away,(her in TX us in WV) and she has totally turned his kids against him and they won't even talk to him on the phone. So, my question is if he does give up his rights to the children does he still have to pay back all of that support?
