What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Virginia

I live in Virginia and inherited money from my Aunt's estate in RI. Will I have to claim this as income on my federal and state tax returns? I have tried to look for this answer on the IRS website, but without success. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

If the income would have been taxable to your aunt, had she lived, then it will be taxable to you. If not, it is not taxable to you.

Inheritance is generally not taxable to the recipient, except as above.

Contact a tax professional with the specifics of your situation so they can advise you more clearly.
