I have been dealing with the IRS for the past 2 years now on trying to settle an Offer in Compromise for 941 back taxes. We have come to an impass and I am now in the process of appealing. We are off by about $35,000 as to what they say I should pay and what I can actually afford.

My question is if a compromise isn't come to what happens? Does this tax become uncollectable and do they continue to pursue me for payment?

Anyone been in this situation before?
