What is the name of your state?FL

I know that a company must show you your personal employee file if you ask for it, but if you ask for statements from the file are they legally obligated to give them to you?

Actually, you are mistaken. While there are some states in which the employer is required to let you see and/or copy your employee file, Florida is not one of them.

In Florida, your employer has no legal obligation to allow you to see your personnel file, or to allow you to have copies of anything in it. It's entirely up the employer whether or not to permit either.
