What is the name of your state?

Massachusetts

Situation:

First off there is no court order, everything is verbal (bad idea, I know). Girl is 20. Up until the end of Dec. 04 she was a full time college student. Father is paying the verbally agreed upon child support. Well student decides not to go back for her spring semester and unenrolls herself from college. She is trying to get into a different college for Fall 05. Father has not been told of this although he does appear to be getting suspicious.

What would the father have to do in order to find out whether or not his daughter is enrolled in college? If he does find out will the mother owe him the child support he has paid out from the time she left school till now? How would this type of situation be handle in court? There is currently no court order of any kind. Everything was done verbally.

Thanks.

child support in Ma. can run until age 23 if the "child" is a full time student.

Without a court order, Dad currently is under no obligation, and mom does not haveto back any money paid while kid was not in school because again there is no court order.

due to the school issue mom could attempt to take Dad to court for support and even open up the college cost can of worms.

A lawyer consult would be highly reccomended, before Dad stops voluntarily paying voluntarily paid support.
