I am filling out the federal form SF-86, and I am trying to answer the question, "Have you ever been charged with or convicted of offense(s) related to alcohol or drugs."
Just over two years ago I was arrested for possesion of marajuna in Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY. I was held in jail over night, and in the morning I saw a public defender for no more than 20 seconds, before I was filed through a court room room and released. I think I heard something about ACD, but I never spoke to the judge and I was unable to get any paper-work related to my arrest. I've called the Kings County Clerk of the Court and the Brooklyn DA's office but neither could find and charges against me.
I want to answer honestly, but honestly I don't know if I was ever charged. Does anyone know where I can get a definitive answer?
