What is the name of your state?State is Texas.

I am a physician and I have accepted and signed an employment contract. The new position will start August 1, 2005. I have received a sign-on-bonus (but have not deposited the check yet. )

I have changed my mind and no longer wish to accept the job. If I return the sign-on bonus, are there other legal actions which could come against me? (I have not received any other form of payment).

Nobody here can advise you on what recourse the employer has because we haven't read the contract. In theory, they could sue you for the damages they will incur if you violate the terms of the contract. What you really need to do is show the contract to a local attorney.
