Can you get arrested for sending someone a letter as a joke and making it look like it came from a well known organization? I was told this is a federal offense but no one was hurt by it in any way. And what about internet posts..... can you get arrested for putting your personal opinion of someone on an web site, as well as their personal info (name, address, ss#, etc.). I know you can get sued if someone uses their ss# to obtain goods/services, but what about criminaly?

so you want to put someone's name, address, ss#, etc. on the Internet for all to see. Apparently in an effort to encourage others to commit identity theft. What a loser. Although probably not criminal, it is certainly an invitation to a civil suit.

And if you make a habit of doing it, or do it with malicious intent, then you can get into the realm of criminal harassment.

Actually, this happended TO me, so I am the VICTIM not the loser.

Maybe you should actually tell the story as it happened.
