Can a mother collect child support from a father who receives SSI along with various other permanent disability benefits?

Yes, support can be received from a person recieving SSI. Most likely because it is considered poverty level the payment will run around 25.00 to 50.00 a month. The child may also be eligible for his/her own SSI check depending on the type of SSI/SSD. There are several types of SSI/SSD (Adult disabled child, disabled adult, permanent disabled adult, etc...)

SSI can't be garnished nor would the child be eligible for their own benefits. However a judge could still order child support to be paid.

SSDI provides the child with their own benefits to replace child support.
