Is it legal for high school students to protest in school, without school officials knowing this, and the protest is not even against the school?

You will not be permitted to disrupt school activities, and if you walk out of class or leave campus you can be considered truant - a crime in California.

You have the right to free speech at the school, but not to disrupt the orderly operation of the school or to encourage students to engage in unlawful or disruptive behavior.
