I am in the process of buying a home that backs to a commercial property. They have one building and open space directly behind my proposed home. Planning allows them to construct up to a 35ft building behind me, so in order to prevent that I am looking at (a) buying a portion of the property, but am told that subdividing would be a pain, or (b) or perhaps buying an easement for right of use to extend my backyard... is that possible? What would you recommend?
