I live in Missouri, I lived in an apartment in 1995 or 1996 which I was evicted from. I received a letter in the mail from this properties debt collection and they are wanting to collect the rent. Is there some kind of time limit they have to collect? This is from about 10 years ago when my sons father took off and I could not pay the rent -the lease was in my name and my father had co signed. Please help, I am a single mother just trying to get by and I cannot afford to pay an attorney if they take me to court.

Thank you,
Melissa
