What is the name of your state? Texas

I have a two month old child with my current boyfriend. We are not married, only living together. His name is on the birth certificate as the baby's father, however, I am wondering if it would be possible to leave guardianship/custody of my baby to her grandmother (my mother) in the event that I were to die or become unable to care for her??

Dad would have the first place in line for custody should something happen to you. You can't leave kids in wills. They're not puppies or furniture.

Not only is bio dad "first place" in line for custody, but sole custody would AUTOMATICALLY go to him.
