What is the name of your state? WV

The original developer of our neighborhood still lives there and oversees all the activity. He is essentially the dictator of the neighborhood association, and everything that is done has to go through him. Ironically, he doesn't follow the covenants himself, with clear violations with his own home.

What could he do if I were to ignore him and just do what I want? Ie: build a house and don't get his approval on its design/appearance/materials.

Thanks.

He could sue you, win, force you to spend a lot of money bringing your house into compliance, continue to violate the covenants himself, and leave you to enjoy the sweetness of revenge. That'll show him.
