Giving up paternal rights

What is the name of your state?CA To all of you who gave me advice regarding my ex giving up his paternal rights to get out of paying child support. We went to court and ex told the judge he wanted nothing to do with his child. The judge said NO WAY he can give up his paternal rights. Basically said why would the state want to support his child. Bottom line is I got full legal and physical custody and he has no visitation!!!! And yes he still has to pay child support. Thanks again for all your advice.
