What is the name of your state?California. My x-fiancee and I owned a 4plex jointly. I recently bought her out and now own it by myself. I had a joint account with her and in that account were our security deposits from the tenants about $1300 total. She closed the account w/out telling me until after the fact and refuses to give me the money saying I owe her for several other things. Is this illegal or do I need to come up with the money for new security deposits for the tenants?

It's not illegal. Her name was on the account. She can take whatever she wants out of it. You should've gotten the deposits out of the acct when you bought out her interest in the property. Sorry.
