What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Florida

My step-father and I jointly own a lot of land we purchased at an acution.
I want sole ownership of the land and he may be willing to give it to me. How do I have his name removed from the deed?

He needs to write you a "quitclaim" deed. This will transfer all his interest in the property to you. Write the deed, get the signatures notarized, then record it.

**A: use your common sense. Writng a deed is not a do-it-yourself project.
well, using my common sense I know I can't afford to pay a lawyer to draw up the deed. What are some other options that you are aware of?
