What is the name of your state? New York

Is it considered necessacary to inform a party that you are considering legal action against them? I would hate to sound like one of those " You will be hearing from my atttorney " people if it is not needed. Thanks~

No. The value of notifying them is to induce them to change their behavior, or settle the dispute before the filing of the lawsuit.
