my mother passed away some years ago leaving her home to me. i recieved a tax statment this year with taxes that should have been payed from 12+ years ago (of course i don't have any proof). Am i obligated to pay these taxes (even if thay are 12+ years old)?? if so, do I have an legal ave.'s to contest these???

**A: yes, you pay up unless you can prove they were payed or the tax office gives you a waiver. Absent any sol.
