What is the name of your state? US

I'm trying to build a lookup table or two for an application with Crime types (and categories/subcategories/severity-levels if required) but cannot figure out what data should go into what table because I'm not familiar with the judiciary system. I guess I can include the severity-level column for each crime-type in the same table. This is some of what I found online:

CRIME-CATEGORIES:
Aggravated assault
Arson
Burglary
Forcible rape
Larceny-theft
Motor vehicle theft

Does the above data cover everything? I just want to build a simple
table of crime types and not blow it out with huge data with exhaustive crime types (maybe less than 100 rows). How do I go about categorizing it and setting their severity levels such as misdemeanor, felony, etc? What are the various crime-types, categories, severity levels (and their numeric ratings), etc?

What I need basically is the data itself. I would appreciate any help/advice and knowledge on court-system.

Thanks much...
