What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California

My brother is an owner of a 7-Eleven store. A customer was stabbed in front of the store two years ago, and is now in coma. Last week he and 7-Eleven were hit with a liabilty lawsuit. I understand his store is covered with insurance. 7-Eleven and the insurance company will do what's best for them. So what actions should he be taking to protect himself? Generally does a case like this have any merit? Thanks.

Without a whole lot more information, there is no way to answer your questions. Generally is cases such as this, a lawyer is looking for someone with deep pockets (7-11 Corporation) that will pay them some money to avoid a trial. Many times these cases are settled for only a small fraction of the original lawsuit's claim.

Wait a second - - - the person was stabbed TWO years ago, and NOW is in a coma? Or has the stabee been in a coma for 2 years?

If they just fell into a coma, how is the stabbing related to the coma??????
