My step son lives in WVA with his wife, daughter and soon to be twin sons. My husband is his legal father. He has broken off the relationship with his mother a few years ago due to her desire to break up his family. Now that she knows twins are on the way, she has filed suit to seek visitation rights to her grandchildren. My step son calls me mom and is a full member of our family. My question is can I adopt him and would this sever his mothers rights to be "grandmother" to his kids?
