Our home and our neighbor's was built in 1921. The two houses were hooked to the same sewer line. Our sewer goes through their property and they request us to move it to our property. The city said it would cost $2680 to hook up to the sewer. We have to install our line. Is this resonable or after 79 years is there an easement clause available. Thanks for any help as Social Security doesn't stretch easy.

There may be easement rights but usually if government is involved regarding installation of utilities, you must follow the rules. Check with a local attorney. It may be a long shot but it is worth a try.
