What is the name of your state? New York, Nassau County

There is a main street that "no U-turn" sign posted on almost every block. I made a u-turn on one of the streets that does not have a sign and received a ticket.

My case is that there was no sign on that particular street, so it was legal. Doe sanyone know the law in terms of how far from the posted sign you can make a u-turn? Does it apply only to the block it is posted?

Yeah it's like the highway.

There is a 70mph posted speed limit, but these signs are like 4-5 miles apart.

So guess that means that since there isnt one between sign A and sign B I can do a 100mph, right?

There has to be a law that says the sign applies to some defined area - either the city block or a certain distance before / after. It can't be arbitrary.

Anyone know?
