damaged to unattended property

I was given a summons for running into a unattended fire station garage. I am scheduled to appear in traffic court. Do I need a lawyer. What will the judge decide. It was clearly an accident no one other than me was involved. I simply made the wrong turn before I realized I was headed the wrong way.

Absent special circumstances (multiple offenses, etc.), you don't need a lawyer, just a good explanation.
