What is the name of your state?Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Our offices are in southern California and we are incorporated in the state of California.

I own a web design corporation and have been approached by two escorts/adult entertainers/strippers to build them websites advertising their business. I have quoted pricing and they are interested in moving ahead with the process. However, as I have never done web work for this industry, I am wondering about any liability or criminal issues my company may encounter. If I create their web site and they get busted for prostitution or lewd conduct, can it come back to me and my business? They are paying for my work just like any other customer, but I just don't want to open myself or my company up to any legal issues if I move forward with their site build.

Thank you in advance.

It is kind of iffy and maybe someone else can clear it up better but, if it is a legal website and you have no knowlege of them doing any illegal activities and are taking a cut from their buisness if illegal then you should be fine.

Ofcourse, if they end up doing prostitution and it gets out on the news you were advertising for them your company will not look to good.

As long as you are neither promoting nor encouraging a criminal enterprise, then I would assume that you treat them like you would any other client. However, you might advise that you wish to stay away from any suggestive or naked models on display since your company has a reputation to uphold.

And if you really don't want to have some adult theme business on your list of clients, I would simply tell them, "No thanks."
