Will I lose my license for 36 miles over the speed limit. I have a clean record. The ticket states I have to appear in court. Will there be a jail sentence? I live in IL.

My response:

Stampcollector, what's going on in your life? You're getting tickets, you're getting screwed out of 5K . . . my goodness !! Slow down, figuratively and actually.

No, you won't lose your license. You'll get a heavy fine though. If your record is clean, as you say, call the court clerk traffic ticket division, and ask if there is a diversion program - - Traffic School - - and if you pass, the record is wiped out and your insurance company won't raise your rates. You DO have insurance don't you? I can see the post now: "I was in an accident, and I had no insurance. Now what happens?"

Yes, I have insurance. The question was actually for my husband. He was on his way home from a long days work and wasn't watching his speed. He does however, say he wasn't going as fast as the officer said he was. He said the officer was not using radar so he doesn't know how he clocked him. He goes to court on Tuesday so we will see how he does and he does have a clean record.
The question about the internet business was for my son. He is the one with the business. I am just looking out for the people I care about and am in no trouble of my own. Tks.

I got out of a speeding ticket when I was 15 because the cop didn't use a radar...He pulled me over for speeding...I just casually asked him how much over the limit I was going....He stated that he didn't have his radar on...Then he noticed my age tried to give me a ticket for breaking the restricted license code...That one flopped to since I was on my way to work...He then stated he could get me for wreckless driving. Being the "invincible teen" I stated that I could then get him for harrassment...He told me the only reason why he wouldn't give me a ticket was because he couldn't find his pen...(It was in his right shirt pocket)....

No you will not lose your license.....nor will you receive a REALLY BIG FINE!......hire an attorney......not too long ago I was caught going 98mph in a 55...which is 43 over the limit.....the attorney will plea bargin with the states attorney and you'll probably get a fine of around $200 to $300 .....plus the attorney fee...which is probably $150......so don't sweat it
