I got a ticket for what the cop called unnecessary acceleration. I would actually call it more like failure to slow down before turning. I was going through a parking lot that is private property and I took a turn a little fast. Right after I parked the cop was at my window to give me a ticket. According to my friend he can not give me a ticket because it is private property. Is this true? Is there even such a law in Minnesota about unnecessary acceleration?
