Ticket in California for (among other goodies) VC 16028A (no insurance). Cop checked box "No" for "correctable violation".
As I was able to determine, this is a correctable violation.

If/since cop made a wrong statement, does that help me with anything?

BTW, I did have insurance, but not the insurance card with me.

Thanks.

My response:

You're welcome? What did I did to deserve your thanks? I graciously and humbly accept, but I was just wondering.

Anyway, the error is correctable in court. It's no biggy. Just show you're insurance card in court, and you'll be okay - - will just have to pay a small fine (plus assessment) for not having your card with you.

Like I said to another writer, if you were cited and didn't have insurance on the date of the ticket, the fine is so huge, with assessment, that most people would have to take out a bank loan!!

Insofar as the Motion for Verified Complaint is concerned, after you're done "massaging" it, you file it before your hearing date. You mail it to the court with your $23.00 filing fee, along with a copy for "conforming" and a SASE for return of the conformed copy to you. When you appear on your trial date, the judge will rule on your merits. If granted (and it should), the judge will order the D.A. to file a complaint by a certain date, and you will appear on that new date. Then, you can read the complaint and decide whether or not to pursue the matter by going to trial, or pleading guilty. If the D.A. fails to file a complaint - - ACTION DISMISSED !!

Thanks again.
