my husband has an ex with whom he has two children. they were never married. they had a joint account which they both deposited money into, they both paid their bills out of it. his ex deposited money and paid off a few of his debts to the tune of 4000.00 this was in 2003, march. she is now threatening to sue us for this money. is this possible? it was a joint account. will the statute of limitations keep her form suing or will the fact that it was a joint account that they both put money in and took money out of keep this from going to trial. we are also involved in a custody battle and cant afford more than the laywer fees and 200.00 a week in child support we alreay pay. can they garnish his wages if she does sue? if so can we set the amount. baby expected in oct.
