Hello,

Myself and my wife are going through a divorce mediation - we are close to wrapping up(hopefully).

During the last meeting, the mediator mentioned that we can just have the the "Judgement of Dissolution" done.

I understand that the "Judgement of Dissolution" is the final document, and the "Marital Settlement Agreement" precedes it. My questions are:
1. are there specific advantages to having both documents done?
2. are there specific disadvantages of having only the "Judgement of Dissolution" done?

Thank you for reading. Help in answering my questions is appreciated.
