What is the name of your state?maryland
If the house is marital property and the wife asks for a voluntary separation
do I have to be the one to leave for the year? I don't want the separation.
There are no children involved, can I take care of the mortgage and the house bills while she leaves for the time being?

Neither of you is obligated to leave your home, if jointly held, unless and until a judge says so. You have just as much right to live there as she.

Why are you asking the question a second time....and leaving out the important details that you included the first time? Sure, you might get different answers...but they will be much less valid.
