I am planning on acquiring a d/b/a from a company and expect to operate it basically in the same fashion as it operated under the company (same clients/staff/etc.). I am concerned that transferring the d/b/a directly from that company to me may result in my incurring the obligations and liabilities of the d/b/a or of the company making the transfer to me. How can I insure this doesn't happen?

Any insight appreciated.

TIA
