What is the name of your state? California

I slipped at a friends house and broke my elbow. They have homeowners insurance but the insurance company has told me they only have coverage of $1000.00 for medical . What about the personal liability amount of $300,000.00 can that be used to pay the hospital, doctors, therapy ect.?

My response:

The $1,000.00 is "No Fault" coverage, and goes to anyone suffering an injury (except the insured) no matter the reason for the injury. However, the $300,000.00 (or any portion thereof) is for "liability" coverage. That means you have to prove that the owner was somehow liable for the reason for your slip, trip and fall incident. So, what caused your fall and, was that cause due to some dangerous condition of the premises?
